Kimberly Willis Green W2TN’s Henderson IS Hospitality Reporter for SCB-TV News Lanelle Henderson, founder and chief executive officer of Welcome 2 the Neighborhood, LLC (W2TN) is the new hospitality correspondent for Southern Crescent Broadcasting Television (SCB-TV) news that airs on channel 15. Henderson will be featured on the network throughout each day and at 10 p.m., reporting on hospitality for Henry County. Her segments will begin airing on SCB-TV 15 news later this month. “I believe Lanelle will be an integral part of the SCB-TV news team,” said SCB-TV president Michelle Deraney. “We welcome her and look forward to sharing her knowledge and insight of the hospitality industry with the community.” Widely known as Henry County’s “southern hospitality specialist,” Henderson’s company, W2TN is a community based service that greets newcomers and supports local businesses with creative marketing and advertising strategies. In addition to her business, Henderson is actively involved in hosting various types of events which has given her exposure to the broad industry of hospitality and their professionals. She hosts her signature annual event “Picnic in the Park” in McDonough to support the local business community and residents of Henry County. Prior to starting her own business, Henderson held management positions with Hilton and Marriott hotels in sales and marketing. Her primary interests are hospitality, community and education with a focus on empowering women. Henderson obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Hospitality from Georgia State University. Henderson has been published in Lodging Magazine and Prentice Hall’s Introduction to the Hospitality Industry 2004 textbook. She’s also been featured in several news publications including The Atlanta Journal and Constitution, Daily Herald, Henry Times, Henry Neighbor, arts&expressions Magazine, VISIONS and seen on SCB-TV’s “The Perspective” and WXIA-11 Alive News Saturday Morning. Active in civic and community organizations, Henderson has served on the Cecil B. Day School of Hospitality Advisory Board at Georgia State University. She is also an active member and Diplomat with the Henry County Chamber of Commerce, where she has volunteered with efforts such as First Steps and Henry County’s Cancer Services. Henderson is a member of the Leadership Henry Board of Directors and 2004 graduate. A native New Yorker, Henderson resides in McDonough, Georgia with her 16 year-old son, Darryl.
